The Rogers’ Factory Reference

I am indebted to Pete Sced, son of Malcolm Sced, for permission to use these photographs of the Rogers’ factory references 003 and 004 from 1974 which belonged to his father. As well as photographs of this unique pair of speakers Pete has kindly supplied photographs of correspondance between the BBC and Rogers including a letter from my father to his. A fantastic reference archive. Many thanks Pete!

Rogers as Swisstone made in excess of 50,000 pairs between 1987 and 1992 after which the company was bought by Wo Kee Hong Group. As a result there are very many variations in details including the manufacturer of the components on the crossover, the colour of the PCB itself, the grille badges etc. If you would like to date your LS3/5As you are welcome to contact me. Here I can include just a few examples.
